Key Scripture: Acts 20:35 – “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
INTRODUCTION
Beloved brethren, there is a powerful principle in the kingdom of God that many people overlook. Jesus said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” The world teaches us to take and accumulate, but the kingdom of God operates on a different principle: the principle of giving.
Poverty is not only financial; many times it is a mindset. The spirit of poverty reminds you of what you do not have while ignoring the things God has already placed in your hands.
When you begin to recognize what God has given you and use it to bless others, you step into the flow of divine abundance.
1. POVERTY FOCUSES ON LACK, BUT FAITH FOCUSES ON WHAT GOD HAS GIVEN
2 Kings 4:2 – “What do you have in the house?”
The widow thought she had nothing, but she had a small jar of oil. That little oil became the source of overflowing abundance. Many people are waiting for something new while ignoring what God has already placed in their hands.
2. WHOEVER WATERS OTHERS WILL BE WATERED
Proverbs 11:25 – “A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.”
If you want encouragement, encourage someone. If you want favor, be a blessing to others. God fills vessels that are willing to pour out into others.
3. GIVING IS NOT ONLY MONEY
Giving can be your time, talents, gifts, wisdom, encouragement, prayer, and moral support.
Acts 3:6 – “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you.”
Every believer has something to give.
4. STOP THE SPIRIT OF COMPETITION AND JEALOUSY
Romans 12:10 – “Outdo one another in showing honor.”
The kingdom of God calls us to compete in doing good, celebrating others, and supporting others.
5. A WELL MUST FLOW TO STAY FRESH
Matthew 25:29 – “For to everyone who has, more will be given.”
The servant who buried his talent lost it because God rewards stewardship. The question is not what you lack, but what you are doing with what God already gave you.
6. THE MINDSET OF ABUNDANCE ATTRACTS DIVINE FAVOR
The mindset of abundance says, “I am blessed enough to bless others.” When God finds someone ready to bless others, He opens doors, relationships, and opportunities.
7. CHOOSE TO BE A GIVER
Come out of the mindset of lack. Ask the Lord to show you what He has already placed in your hands and begin to use it.
CONCLUSION
The blessed life is the life of a giver. Recognize what God has given you, use your gifts to bless others, celebrate others, and become a vessel of generosity.
FINAL PRAYER
Lord, deliver us from the mindset of lack. Help us recognize the gifts you have placed in our hands and teach us to be generous vessels in your kingdom. May our lives become instruments of blessing to others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
